Peruvian Tack

I have been associated with the Peruvian Horse during my entire life. My father, an American, established himself in Peru in 1922 and became a successful and respected businessman. He managed and owned several large haciendas in the vicinity of Lima. One of his fondest recollections was about driving his car or taking the street car from his residence to the furthest point of the road, where a saddled Peruvian Paso horse would wait for him to take him to one of his haciendas to spend the rest of the day on horseback, overseeing the agricultural labors. For me, my first experience with the horses were also related to the agricultural work and to the use of the horse as a means of transportation in reaching my remote and favorite fishing spots along the coast of Peru. In 1967, I came to the United States to attend college and received a degree in Business Administration. Shortly after that in 1972, I took up residency in Vancouver, Canada and established a Peruvian Horse breeding farm and related Peruvian tack business. Over the years, I have continued to be involved in the breeding of horses but I have dedicated more time to the Peruvian tack enterprise. From its inception this business has evolved from the resale of tack obtained from Peruvian vendors to the actual production of our unique Peruvian saddle and head gear. We work closely with many artisans that hand craft the different components of the Peruvian tack. The our own craftsmen assemble the parts into the finished products. Our meticulous supervision, which requires my frequent trips to Peru, has resulted in an enhanced quality control process which translates into customer satisfaction. Our own tack crafting also gives our comers the added opportunity to order tack suited to their own specifications and personal touches. In my capacities as Director and President of the Peruvian Paso Horse Association and because of my business, I have attended man of the regional and al Peruvian horse shows and had the privilege of meeting most of you personally. In the future, I plan to continue attending more shows and maintain that personal communication with our customers that has made our business a success for over twenty years.
